Bodymovement June 18th and 30th on Virginia Key

This session we will continue the Land and Body Survey at The Historic Virginia Key Beach Park @virginiakeybeachpark ! We will build upon some of the idea's from the prior class and continue to explore the potential future of a mediation garden we are building/designing on the edge of the hardwood hammock, through movement improv exercises and reflection. We also will focus on release, both physical and emotional using the surrounding native environment to support and hold us through the release. There is a lot- ALOT of heavy, miserable, oppressive and at times seemingly impossible matters at hand that we all must deal with. Add to this the reality of Climate Change and general Environmental disregard. However, The Earth can still hold us, comfort us and teach us. It is crucial to remember and experience this love in order to gain the strength necessary to fight! Release into the Earth and open yourself a potentially different relationship to yourself, others and... The Earth! This is part of my current work “Repatriating to the Earth” made possible through Oolite Arts @oolitearts . Please arrive 10 minutes early and meet us by the park office, then we will head to the spot together. link to register for class in linktree in my bio <3 After class there is an Environmental Justice Discussion & Historical Tour of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park followed by a sunset beach cleanup as we dive deeper into its history as it relates to environmental justice and Black access to natural spaces at 6:30pm Spaces limited- RSVP to guarantee your spot. Information about parking and meeting locations will be sent out to registrants ahead of the event. bit.ly/tour_cleanup
